The Day Lewis Group
Day Lewis Pharmacy is one of the UK & Europe’s largest independent pharmacy chains, providing essential healthcare to communities across England. Founded by the late Kirit Patel MBE and his brother JC Patel in 1975, with the purchase of their very first pharmacy in Southborough, the Day Lewis Group has grown to over 260 pharmacies in the UK today. The family business is now led by highly experience management team that includes Kirit’s children, Jay, Rupa and Sam Patel, supported by his brother J.C. Patel.
Our mission is to be as large and successful as we can be, providing we maintain our core purpose and core values and remain independent. We are committed to our core purpose of helping people in the community to stay healthy and feel better.

1973
Wells Offshore is born
Founded by Dr. Brian Wells as part of Wells Pharmacy, Withernsea. The purpose of the company is to act as a wholesaler of medical and pharmaceutical supplies to the shipping industry, and major oil, gas, and mining companies throughout the world.
2012
Part of the Day Lewis Group
Acquired Day Lewis PLC who saw excellent synergies between Wells Offshore and their active wholesaling division.
2017
New site opens in Hull
Wells moves into a brand new purpose built 10,000sq ft capacity site dedicated to medical supplies.
2019
Partnership with MSI (Formerly L.E. West)
Aligning synergies with MSI UK to supply dedicated sectors such as commercial maritime, offshore maritime and lifeboats
2020
Liferaft Kit Producer
Wells becomes one of only 2 Lloyds registered lifeboat life raft kit manufacturers in the UK, supplying the global market
